Communications and Campaigns Lead x2
London Borough of Barnet
Salary: £36,924 - £41,484 + excellent benefits
Closing date: 19 October 2016
There’s nothing pedestrian about working in Barnet. As a commissioning council, we’ve been in the driving seat of innovation and transformation for the past six years. We continually challenge ourselves to challenge the status quo to find better ways to deliver services, whilst remaining focused on meeting the needs of our residents and tackling the financial challenges we face head on.
Barnet’s plans to 2020 are bold and exciting. We’re committed to making sure the borough remains a great place to live and work by delivering our ambitious regeneration and growth programme responsibly - maximising the opportunities that it brings for the local community and the economy. We’ll be taking care of our much loved neighbourhoods, parks and open spaces and harnessing the great community spirit in the borough. And we will support people to live happy, healthy and independent lives.
Strategic communications play a crucial role in delivering our plans, and as a result, so will you. We’re looking for enthusiastic, creative people with lots of energy, great people skills, and a can do approach. In return you’ll get the opportunity to continue building your communications career in a busy, high profile and supportive team that sits at the heart of a leading London Borough.
As a Communications and Campaign Lead, you will take ownership for communications and campaigns in a key area of council business; people services, regeneration and growth or the environment, as well taking a lead on some cross cutting initiatives. You’ll become subject matter experts and provide effective account management to a range of stakeholders, providing expert advice and negotiating priorities and resources. With a broad range of communication skills, you’ll be able to turn your hand from campaign delivery and project planning to issues handling, while using insight and evaluation to demonstrate results. You’ll also build close working relationships with colleagues across the team, commissioning specialist support as required.
This is a great opportunity to play a key role in a thriving communications service, where every day is different. You’ll get to work on high profile projects that make a real difference to local people and the area, in a team where talent is recognised and encouraged.
