Can you combine great writing with eye-catching social media content? This is a fantastic opportunity to use your skills to help shape the way people think about migration and integration.
We’re the main migration organisation in Yorkshire and Humber and it’s an exciting time to join us, as we look to transform our press and social media profiles. You’ll take a key role in our press activity, lead on social media and ensure effective publicity for the new Connecting Opportunities project. You’ll also develop a bank of case studies for use across all areas of our work, set up and manage a media assets library and commission photos and other publicity materials.
We’re looking for a flexible communications specialist who knows what makes a good story, writes engaging press and media copy and has expertise in using social media. You’ll have a talent for designing and creating infographics and/or videos, along with good editorial judgment, the ability to meet tight deadlines and excellent attention to detail. If you’re enthusiastic about the benefits of migration and would enjoy working collaboratively to engage diverse audiences across different sectors, this new post could be for you.
You’ll be joining a friendly, growing team that is based in the centre of Leeds. This is a full-time, permanent post with an option for some home working. The role requires travel across Yorkshire and Humber and sometimes further afield.
Connecting Opportunities works with new migrants to develop their skills and opportunities to find work and be part of the local community. It is funded by the Big Lottery and the European Social Fund as part of the Building Better Opportunities programme. Migration Yorkshire is the lead organisation on the project.
