The GMC helps to protect patients and improve medical education and practice in the UK by setting standards for students and doctors. We support them in achieving those standards, and take action when they are not met.
We are looking for a talented internal communications professional to join our marketing communications team in the heart of Manchester to cover up to 12 months maternity leave.
We have a responsibility to help improve health education and practice in the UK, at a time when doctors and the health service are under more pressure than ever, and modern, high impact internal communications are essential to enable our staff to operate efficiently and effectively in a positive and conducive work environment.
As Internal Communications Manager you will lead on delivering our internal communications strategy, developing and owning a comprehensive implementation plan to support our staff in achieving the aims of our corporate strategy. You will develop and oversee innovative internal communications campaigns which engage all staff, with a strong focus on digital communication and engagement. And you will contribute to improving staff engagement through regular tracking and evaluation of staff feedback.
As part of your role you will also be responsible for managing, supporting and developing a team of three Internal Communication Officers based in Manchester, and for building on existing, solid relationships with other parts of the organisation, in particular Human Resources, Information Systems and the Office of our Chair, Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officer.
