Supporting communications in one of the UK's most diverse boroughs
Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here.
The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us.
This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join our small, awarding winning, team.
As Communications Assistant you will provide support and assistance across all aspects of communications. From writing press releases and creating video content across a variety of subject areas to working on The Brent Magazine or helping out the film office with high profile film location enquiries, no two days are the same. As well as the day to day support functions that need to be carried out, including raising invoices and various admin tasks, you will get a wide ranging experience across a number of Communications and Digital Marketing disciplines and be involved in evaluating the impact of multi-media communications campaigns.
The role is key to ensuring our high performing team continues to work well and is a great opportunity to develop your own experience, skills and knowledge in a fast moving communications environment.
You will have top notch organisation skills and the ability to multi task to be able to keep on top of everything that’s going on in a fast moving team. You will be positive and energetic with a ‘can do’ attitude and will relish variety and be comfortable juggling competing priorities. You will be self-motivated with excellent communication skills, whether that’s over the phone, through email or face to face, so first-rate written and verbal English skills are vital.
