Creating a safer future by managing radioactive waste effectively, to protect people and the environment
Radioactive Waste Management (RWM) is working to support and deliver safe and secure approaches to the way we manage radioactive waste. As part of this work, RWM will be leading the delivery of a major infrastructure project called geological disposal for the permanent disposal of radioactive wastes. The project – developed in partnership with willing local communities – will provide growth, jobs and opportunities for more than 100 years.
We are building a small corporate communications team to ensure that colleagues are effectively engaged to champion our work, and that stakeholders and communities have all the information they need to understand and support key projects. We are now looking for talented communications professionals to join the team and deliver across the full spectrum of communications and engagement activities. These will range from supporting the delivery of media engagement plans, managing social media channels, briefing journalists, Tweeting from events and working with design agencies, to supporting employee engagement initiatives designed to ensure that our people are informed and empowered to act as ambassadors of RWM.
You will be an organised, collaborative and delivery-focused communications and engagement professional, looking to develop your skillset. You will have successfully used a variety of communication channels, including social media, and possess well developed written and verbal communication and presentation skills. You will, ideally, have some experience of using Adobe Creative Cloud, SharePoint and other CMS tools and of analysing, using and presenting communications data and insights.
With no two days the same and RWM taking forward plans to engage communities on the Geological Disposal project in 2018, we consider this to be a great opportunity for ambitious communications professionals to build their skillsets in the support of our vital organisational mission.
