The Strategy and Engagement Service has a team of around 60 staff and sits within the Customer and Support Services Directorate.

Delivering strategic communications, ensuring our residents are informed and that we engage with them in meaningful ways where they are able to influence the decisions the Council makes are core to our work, which can range from working with the media, to marketing, driving behavioural change campaigns or running consultations.
The role holder will lead development and implementation of the Council’s social media strategy and governance framework, managing requests for establishing new social media pages and channels and for reporting on performance of sites.
You will also lead the development and delivery of social media training and support for administrators of social media pages across the Council to ensure the delivery of high quality and engaging content and agreed performance reporting.
The role has direct ownership of the Council’s corporate social media accounts and is the lead for planning, creating, editing and publishing easily accessible and engaging information on these. You will also be responsible for monitoring and evaluation of key channels and will own and maintain digital content schedules for the Communications and Engagement team.
The role is also responsible for managing corporate content on the Council’s web and intranet pages and will play a key role in supporting the organisations work on channel optimisation and digital uptake of services.
You will also have the opportunity to produce creative and compelling multimedia content which drives resident engagement.
The role holder will work closely with colleagues across the Communications and Engagement team, as well as with other teams across the organisation. The role will be required to travel to collect content and may also be required to provide support outside of hours during emergency incidents.
