Swale Borough Council
Salary: £27,691 - £31,151

Closing date: 3 June 2018
Can you help put Swale on the map?
We are looking for a talented communications and marketing officer to develop and deliver campaigns in our small but busy communications team.
The borough is undergoing significant regeneration in the next few years, and is actively looking to attract new businesses and visitors to this well-connected corner of Kent.
We are committed to making Swale a better place and delivering quality services our residents are proud of, and are working to provide outstanding value for money through innovative partnerships.
Engaging and effective communications is crucial for delivering this – both to inform stakeholders about the services we provide, and to involve them so they can help influence the decisions that affect them.
Reporting to the communications manager, the successful candidate will manage a range of projects and campaigns as part of a small, multi-skilled team.
As well as producing council publications – including the residents’ magazine that is delivered to 60,000 local homes - they will work with stakeholders within and outside the council to deliver, measure and evaluate key messages and campaigns.
The communications and marketing officer will help to develop new, innovative approaches, and develop existing social media channels.
The role would suit someone who is passionate about communications and marketing, with expert knowledge of audience development, and a strong track record of working collaboratively to engage with diverse audiences.
Excellent copywriting skills are a must, as is the ability to smoothly manage competing production deadlines with energy and conviction.
This is a great opportunity for someone keen to make their mark where their skills and experience can be used and developed to make a real difference, and put Swale firmly on the map.
As well as an attractive salary, we are also offering the right candidate a generous annual leave allowance, flexi time and entry to the Local Government Pension scheme.
For an informal discussion about the role, please contact the communications manager Sara Toal on 01795 417066 or email email@example.com .
This is a full time position on a permanent contract.
Swale Borough Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, and expects all employee and volunteers to share this commitment.
