Longhurst Group is one of the UK’s top 10 leading housing providers, providing more than 22,000 homes across the Midlands and the East.
Everything we do is about improving lives and we now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of Communications to tell our compelling story.
With a well-defined set of values and a dynamic leadership team, Longhurst Group has a clear idea of what success looks like. Can you help us to articulate our ambition, influence key decision makers both locally and nationally, and develop a long-term strategy that places quality comms at the heart of what we do?
We are on the hunt for an innovative leader who can guide a talented communications team as well as develop a vibrant strategy that encompasses both internal and external communications. We already have a solid reputation within the housing sector so are looking for an individual with the vision and drive to catapult our comms to the next level.
It is an exciting time to join our senior leadership team as we undergo a period of cultural transformation to harness the talent and energy of our whole organisation in pursuit of our vision to improve lives. As the custodian of our brand, and an unerring champion for communications, you will play an integral role in helping us to achieve our vision.
As well as being upbeat, with a can do attitude and a passion to succeed, you will be an adept communicator with fantastic people skills. You don’t need to have a background in housing, but you do need to share our values that acknowledge the power of people and the importance of always striving for excellence.
With significant experience in leading a communications team within a large, geographically spread organisation you will understand how to get the best out of people and create a culture where people can thrive.
As an experienced communications professional, you will be able to evidence successful brand development, effective stakeholder and customer engagement and the ability to develop a communications and marketing strategy.
You will have a proven background of working at a senior level, with a relevant PR qualification (or equivalent experience), experienced in leading a team from the front, but not afraid to roll your sleeves up to make things happen.
Above all, you will be an enthusiastic ‘go getter’, approachable and adaptable, who will enjoy working within a values based culture.
In return, you will join an organisation that is passionate about providing you with a great place to work and is committed to investing in your future. As well as a competitive salary, our wide range of benefits include choice of a company car or car allowance and pension contributions.
