Senior Communications Officer – Stakeholder Relations

Salary: £32,258 to £41,308 per annum inclusive (band 6)
Permanent, 37.5 hours per week

We’re on the hunt for two capable, experienced and enthusiastic colleagues to join our team.
We need one person to lead on our working on improving our relationships, engagement and communication with key stakeholders, you’ll play a crucial role in helping us enhance and protect our Trust’s reputation, developing and delivering the right tools and channels to get our message across. You’ll help them to better understand the work of our Trust, to listen and act on their concerns, and able to deliver a comprehensive programme of communication and engagement.
And, we’re also looking for a team member with knowledge, experience and creativity to drive our internal communication and engagement – with a range of internal channels and through our programmes of campaigns. We know that engaged, informed and involved staff are happier, more motivated, and provide better care, so that’s what we’re looking for.
In both cases, we need some general skills too. People with demonstrable communications experience, who are as comfortable trying to give more punch to a deck of powerpoint slides for a Council presentation as leading a multi-platform engagement campaign for our staff and public, or handling a tricky media enquiry from a national newspaper. Familiarity and experience with social media is a must, too.
Our Trust is one of the busiest around. We move at quite a pace. And there’s a lot that comes up. So you need to be great at dealing with the unexpected, as well as the business as usual – so you’ll be organised, disciplined, and able to prioritise quickly.
It also means we’re in the spotlight, with lots of scrutiny – from our local public, the media, our staff and partners. It’s not always easy, but it sure is rewarding, there’s certainly plenty to do and plenty of opportunities to learn.
