We are seeking a creative, confident and enthusiastic communications assistant to support the Mayor of Middlesbrough’s efforts to promote opportunities and win investment into Middlesbrough.
Reporting into the Mayor and the Head of Democratic Services, we are looking for someone who:
Can develop engaging content for all of the Mayor’s social media platforms and assist in the management of each channel.
Has a strong track record in media management and can develop relationships with local, regional and national media, including key online publications.
Has strong copywriting skills and can write briefing notes, press releases and articles on strategic issued to ensure that accurate, timely information is provided at all times.
Has excellent time-management and organisational skills and can respond professionally and quickly to tight and changing deadlines, whilst ensuring key priorities are still met.
This role provides a fantastic opportunity to work alongside the Mayor of Middlesbrough to raise the profile of the town regionally, nationally and internationally.
