Are you an outstanding communications professional – an all-rounder who can inspire and lead a talented, busy communications team? If so, perhaps you could be our new Communications Manager – someone comfortable working collaboratively with key internal and external partners, in a role where the work impacts peoples’ lives, where they live and where they work.
Expect to develop and bring to life an ambitious communications strategy supporting our corporate plan and helping to share the stories Reigate & Banstead has to tell. Heading a team which plays a key role in promoting the council’s services, you’ll also be responsible for delivering behaviour change and income generating campaigns, protecting and promoting the council’s reputation and helping the council ensure an engaged workforce. You will also be skilled at managing communications when things go wrong or there’s an emergency.
As well as a strong track record in developing and managing teams, you’ll bring to the role substantial experience of media relations, internal and external communications, including online and digital. Demonstrating a participative approach, you’ll work closely with our Services to develop innovative, targeted and relevant ways to help spread the word to our many internal and external audiences. You’ll also be able to spark creative solutions within limited budgets.
Good written and spoken communications skills are essential; you’ll also need to be comfortable and confident presenting to internal and external audiences at any level and if you’ve experience of working in political environments, even better.
If you’re an enthusiastic, dynamic self-starter who can hit the ground running and doesn’t mind the occasional evening or weekend work we’d love to hear from you.
Deadline for applications is Tuesday 2 July 2019.
