Senior Communication Officer
South Northamptonshire Council
Salary: £35,004.00-£39,594.50 per annum
37 hours per week, permanent
Closing date: 22 August 2019
In this role, you will be leading a team of a communication officer and a web officer, drawing on graphic design and videography/photography resources we currently buy in from one of our neighbouring councils. This is the most senior full-time communications role in the council, and reports into the assistant chief executive.
We therefore need a hands-on, all-rounder, so that the team can continue to deliver a well-respected comms function including media relations, internal comms, a quarterly printed residents’ magazine, a wide range of social media content, and both an intranet and main council website. South Northamptonshire Council is set to merge into one of two new unitary councils in the county in April 2021 (subject to Parliamentary approval). This is a permanent role though, and we anticipate the postholder and whole team transferring into the new council at that time. Please see the job description and person specification for further details
The Council is an equal opportunities employer and has flexible working practices.
• A generous annual leave entitlement
• Opportunity to join the Local Government Pension Scheme
• Cycle to work scheme (after one years’ service)
• Incremental pay award (awarded annually in April after one years’ service)
Closing date: Thursday 22 August 2019.
Interview date: Wednesday 28 August 2019.
