Powered-Up Podcasts

Industry research* in August 2019 showed that more than seven million UK adults – that’s about one-in-eight of us – listen to at least one podcast each week.

And the number is growing. Podcast listenership has shot up 58% in the last two years alone.

So, do you need to get in on the act? Would a podcast be the right thing for your audience, either externally or internally to engage your staff?

And how and where could your own podcast fit into your comms strategy?

Powered-up Podcasts is a day-long workshop covering the basics of podcasting so you can decide if it’s right for you, your audience and your organisation. Even if you’ve already started podcasting, come and pick up some the tips from the people behind the Talking Comms Pod.

The workshop will cover practical advice and tips on:

  • The rise of the podcast

  • Podcasts and strategy

  • Audio and how we process information

  • Writing for the ear

  • Presentation and format styles

  • What kit do you need?

  • Recording, editing and hosting your podcast

  • How to promote and evaluate your podcast

  • Practical exercises to get you up and running
