Wakefield: famous for funky food festivals, sculpture, art and culture. A rich history and industrial heritage based on coal, iron and farming. And diverse, supportive communities.
We’ve lots of great stories to tell and communities to celebrate. And we’re looking for an experienced, creative Social and Digital Communications Manager to help us to showcase them. Who can inspire and support the digital needs of our communications team and the wider organisation.
We’re an award-winning Communications team, and no two days are the same. You’ll work with a wide range of Council services helping them to promote and maximise their message. And you’ll be supported to bring your own, new ideas. We’re an ambitious team always looking to try new things and improve from experience.
We have more than 80k followers across our social media channels. And with your help we’ll grow this further. You’ll be responsible for leading our social media strategy. You’ll make sure we’re continuously improving our channels, finding new ways to reach our audience digitally and using evaluation tools to grow engagement and reach.
You’ll be a great storyteller, and ensuring content is delivered to a high standard, using a mix of techniques to drive audience engagement, including video, graphics, imagery and words. And you’ll make our channels accessible to all.
You’ll be able to work independently, be comfortable adapting to fast-changing situations and be able to handle multiple priorities.
Ideally, you’ll have experience of working in a large organisation so that you can champion the voice of the customer both internally and externally. You’ll need to be strategic in your approach and drive the data from social media evaluation to use as an intelligence and improvement tool.
And you’ll be well supported by your colleagues and your team. You’ll benefit from our commitment to work life balance and equality and diversity, as well as generous annual leave entitlement and a range of employee benefits like healthcare, public transport and gym memberships discounts.
If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
