simple fun, creative chat and chilled out listening - the talking comms pod

December 11, 2018 Darren Caveney
Talking Comms Pod Darren and Adrian.jpg

Listening figures for podcasts continue to rise. So do you fancy adding a rather nifty comms podcast to your listening list?

by Darren Caveney

One of the absolute treats of running my own small business is the extra freedom to get involved in interesting side projects. From the UnAwards to Comms Unplugged I have benefitted hugely from shaping truly unique events - meeting fabulous new people and learning plenty along the way. The common theme here is that these ventures are not for profit so don’t pay the bills. But that’s not the intention – when you work solo most of the time it’s fun to collaborate with talented comms folk.

And that’s where the Talking Comms Pod comes in.

A podcast was something I had fancied getting involved with but to be honest I wasn’t time-rich and it would require me learning new skills to bring me up to pod speed.

So when the very excellent Adrian Stirrup approached me about his idea for the Talking Comms Pod it was a definite yes, one, because I knew Adrian would be good fun to work with, and two, with his radio background he had all the skills needed to bring the idea to life.

So Adrian is the brains and the talent behind the podcast, and I chip in with some interviews and the odd content idea. Perfect.

If you haven’t subscribed to it or listened before do have a listen.

And bonus time – the latest edition has just been released.

This latest episode features 37 minutes worth of chat on…

-  How to build a successful comms team

-  Getting a creative boost into your inbox every month

-  Disinformation

-  An unscheduled chat in a pub and crowd-sourcing a camper van (not)

You can listen in here (and also check out the previous seven episodes in the back catalogue)

Follow on Twitter at @TalkingCommsPod

PLUS Adrian and I are on the look out for new content ideas, interview opportunities and interesting events to cover in 2019 so please shout Adrian at talkingcommspod@gmail.com

Happy listening.
