new webinar: 7 steps to assessing Bluesky’s role in 2025

November 25, 2024 Darren Caveney

Well, Bluesky seems to be doing rather well. Admittedly, that could just be within the bubble we’re in. But it’s growing quickly and – importantly – it’s generating engagement in a way Threads never did. Could it form part of  your professional use? Here’s a new webinar which may help you to decide.

by Alex Waddington and Darren Caveney

Having joined Bluesky last year, and not having done a lot with the account in the interim, the adding of Elon Musk to Trump’s forthcoming new government seemed to us to spark an important turning point in our use of it, as well as a decline in the use of Twitter (X).

Now, we have been here before, with ‘delete Facebook movements’ and more recently ‘delete Twitter’. And, although our social media use is nuanced, multi-layered and difficult to put in simple boxes, this one feels different.

Threads hit the news last year when it became the fastest app in history to hit 100 million downloads. Like many others, we dived in and took a look to understand how and where it might become a useful new tool in our comms armoury. Spoiler alert – it doesn’t.

So, it’s always good to get the balance right between kicking the tyres and understanding whether it’s worth innovating and trying a new tool, and being somewhat watchful about diving in both feet first.

To help us – we’re all still in the learning phase with Bluesky – we have organised a webinar on Friday 13 (yes, really) December at 11am.

We’ll cover off what we think are seven steps to understanding more about the platform, and where it may fit into your social media strategies and tactics in 2025.

Fancy it?

You can sign up HERE.

We’ll also set up what’s known as a Bluesky ’starter pack’ for public sector comms people. If you would like to be added to it - professionally or personally – shout us your Bluesky handle and we’ll add you.

In 2025 we’ll be including Bluesky in our social media training and deep dive social media reviews for organisations. It’s going to be very interesting to see where this one goes.
