Brief for Freelance Communications Officer
The National Centre for Creative Health (NCCH) plays a pivotal role in promoting collaboration to enable creative health to become integral to health and social care and wider systems. NCCH is seeking a freelance Communications Officer to work remotely, delivering across our communications and engagement channels, campaigns and ongoing activities, as a key member of our small, dynamic and committed team. Your work will help increase awareness across the NHS and wider health and care sectors of how creative health benefits patients and service users, preventing ill-health, improving well-being and reducing demand on services - delivering a significant return on investment.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
A key responsibility will be to help drive engagement for our social media channels (LinkedIn, Bluesky) as well as for a new health and care monthly newsletter. As part of this responsibility it will include:
Supporting our General Manager to manage our key social media channels including creating and posting content, monitoring and evaluating impact, with the role particularly focused on creating/posting creative health content for health and care professionals.
Supporting our General Manager to produce our monthly newsletter for the health and care sector and other content where needed such as website updates, press releases, stakeholder updates and email marketing, including research, sourcing and drafting content (written, images and video), design/production and liaison with external stakeholders
Helping set up and manage a new webinar programme including promotion, administration of attendees and producing materials
Researching appropriate social media channels for future campaigns
Working with our General Manager and other colleagues to support campaigns and specific high profile events including administrative tasks
Supporting our General Manager to update and manage databases including data input, updates and data management for distribution lists et
Taking on flexible tasks and requirements to support delivery of our communications, engagement and marketing plan including administrative support.
Timescale: Six-month freelance contract from May 2025 to October/November 2025. Part-time freelance: 1 day per week or 2 half days (8 hours per week) between Tuesday - Friday, fixed hours to be agreed.
Fee: £200-250 per day/8 hours. As a freelancer you will be responsible for paying your own Tax & National Insurance.
