get involved in the public sector approach to digital engagement survey 2022

January 18, 2022 Darren Caveney

It’s one of the largest public sector digital surveys around and has been running for several years now. So please take part to receive the report which will help you benchmark against your peers.

by Jen Morris

The last 12-months have seen digital channels continue to become even more pivotal to the way many organisations operate and the power of social media has been harnessed to connect communities all over the world! We’ve seen organisations adopt hybrid working practices for the long-term, adjust at speed to an ever-changing situation and invest in technologies to ensure effective digital communication, both internally and with customers.

At the beginning of 2021, research showed that global social media users increase to almost 4.2 billion and with digital channels the preferred method of contact for many, the pressure for Public Sector bodies to deliver time and cost-efficient comms has never been greater. To help organisations understand the impact of the pandemic and the shift to digital channels, Orlo joined forces with comms2point to survey over 200 comms professionals from local and central government, healthcare, education, blue light and beyond.

Last year’s survey confirmed what we all already knew - that the demands placed on comms teams throughout the public sector did indeed increase and that already busy teams were stretched like never before. Their digital channels and activities have played a vital role in helping to educate and inform the public while showcasing the amazing efforts of our frontline workers. The education piece which took place on social was especially important during 2020/21 to tackle the misinformation that was banded around on Covid and vaccinations.

The survey results featured in the 2021 report, highlighted the increases in inbound social media enquiries and the move away from more traditional channels, Teams have really stepped up and delivered despite increases in demand and the longevity of the pandemic, which shows no sign of letting up any time soon. The need to future-proof your digital strategies while keeping employee mental health and well-being a top priority has never been more important.

The latest developments bring with them yet another set of changes, so as we begin 2022, Orlo is taking a look at the state of the nation once again - and we want to hear from you! Got a spare few minutes to take part in our 2022 survey, which will benchmark the Public Sector Approach to Digital Engagement?
