If you’re anything like me a good TV or film recommendation is a handy thing to have. Here are my watches in May….

Guilty (iPlayer)
Set on the tough streets of Leith and the not quite as tough streets of Edinburgh this is a gem of a series. Great storyline and acting and a brilliant soundtrack. It follows the story of two brothers, Max and Jake, as one night of recklessness changes their lives for ever.
The mishaps which follow lead them into the path of local crime lords and a series of scrapes taking them to New York City and back again 8/10
Colin from Accounts (iPlayer)
I like this gentle comedy which centres on the offbeat relationship of a couple who meet when a small dog is run over - Colin.
Quirky and fun 7.5/10
Succession Now TV (Now TV)
I can’t write a lot because it will ruin it if you haven’t seen this final season.
An essential watch. Stellar television 9/10
Windfall (Netflix)
This one scores 5.7 on IMDb (I need to stop checking that before everything I watch) and as such is proof that those scores don’t always match what I think. I really enjoyed it for its offbeat quirkiness.
Jason Siegel is great as the unlikely criminal who breaks into a tech billionaire’s holiday home only to bump into him when he drops in for a last minute getaway. Jesse Plemons plays to tech mogul and he is literally never in anything bad 7/10.
A million little pieces (Disney+)
A drug addict’s tortuous journey to detox in a treatment centre is a hard but riveting watch. I’ll watch anything with the peerless Billy Bob Thornton in and he doesn’t disappoint in this as a low level crime boss turned support to the lead character in this true story. 8/10
