This role is a key member of the Development Directorate responsible for developing and implementing the GCC's communications and stakeholder engagement activity. They are responsible for promoting the regulator's statutory functions (education, registration, standards and fitness to practise) to a range of internal and external audiences.
This role is an excellent opportunity to work in a small national regulatory body and develop a wide range of skills and experience. The GCC performs a vital role in keeping chiropractic patients safe. It is fascinating work where no two days are the same and, as the General Chiropractic Council is a small organisation, this is an ideal role for an individual looking to develop their strategic communication skills, while still maintaining a tactical delivery role.

In consultation with colleagues, maintain, develop and promote public/patient/student facing guidance and information, primarily to raise awareness of chiropractic, the regulation of the profession and the GCC.

Develop and produce the GCC newsletter; write content, commission articles/blogs, design newsletter, upload and link content to GCC website; monitor and report on its impact and user activity monthly.
Maximise the benefit and use of the GCC website, the public Register and registrant portal, developing and maintaining content to ensure it remains dynamic and up to date; analytic reporting on its usage.
Develop relationships with key external stakeholder groups (professional associations, universities etc), communicating and seeking buy-in and support for GCC activities and outputs.
Coordinate and produce content for the GCC’s key communications and engagement channels (website, social media and monthly newsletter). Use analytics and research to inform content and increase reach, outcomes and impact.
Plan, co-ordinate and, on occasion deliver, the GCC’s presence at physical and virtual events – both in house and organised by partners.
Develop the GCC’s social media presence using analytics and research to inform content. Produce creative, rich-media content that can be adapted for the needs and audiences of each channel.
